Viva La Sketches!

Hey!

I'm zooming by today with a couple of quick cards to share with ya for a li'l challenge I set myself this month.

I challenged myself to play along with all of the Viva La Verve sketches in August. I've always wanted to do a whole month of sketches and knew that realistically the best chance I'd get to do it would be during the summer holidays.

Now theses sketches are sometimes real challenges for me because there always looks like so many daunting layers on them! I have to kick my CAS mojo into gear and set on CAS-ifying 'em (I hope it's OK to do that!)

Without further ado - my final two cards:

Miss you like Crazy

This card is dedicated to summer - it's dull and cool here today and I really feel like summer has gone for this year now. Miss it like crazy already :(

This was for the week 4 sketch:
I changed the dimensions a li'l on this sketch and I don't know if you can see the pattern I stamped with berry sorbet and aqua mist but it looks much more scrummy IRL! It was easily created by using a masking technique. The colours are inspired by the Play Date Cafe Challenge #96 but I'm too late to enter it now - never mind!

This next one uses up a slither of my stash of DP (yay for me!) as it's a diddy card:

Enjoy Today

Also finally inked up my tiny tags set! It's sooooooooooooo sweet that I could just gobble it up! LOL! Oooh and I coloured my originally white twill lavender to get some colour coordinated ribbon :)

Here's the original sketch for week 5:

So there you have it! I'm off to link these cards up now for the Mega Viva La Verve Sketch Champions! Almost feel like a champion for doing what I challenged myself to do - maybe I should reward myself with a sweet treat....*grin*

Don't forget that my digi giveaway is still open! I've not got many entries for it so the odds are good for those of you who have entered. *wink*

Thanks so much for stopping by - see you tomorrow for a brand new CASE study and with it, a fabulous new muse!

Catch ya later!

Rainbow Fun...

Hey!

Happy Saturday! I did warn you that I'd been very inky recently, trying to make the most of my last days off work so the good (or bad) news for you is that I'm bloggin' like crazy and posting nearly everyday! :)

Today I'm sharing a couple of cards I made to join in the celebrations of Rainbow Week on Lucy's fabby blog (I'm so happy she's up and crafting again - I've missed her creations!)

As y'know I'm a *huge* fan of rainbow themes on cards (you can check out my fun with rainbow cards here and here) so this wasn't really a challenge for me, but just some really fun inky therapy!

You'll have to forgive me but I'm still grasping on to those last few days of summer with the theme of this card and still have a bit of a fixation with googly eyes:

So Sweet!

Each lolly is also smothered in Glossy Accents too for extra shine but my photo doesn't pick that up. I love how a couple of those lollies (Mr Yellow and Mr Green in particular - no it's not Reservoir Dogs but Reservoir Lollies in this case - ha!) decided to pull a face when I was taking my pic! Naughty li'l things :)

And for those of you who just can't do cute or googly eyes here's a super CAS take on the rainbow theme (totally inspired by my past Gallery Idol Card)

you color my world

I was having more digi fun with this card for those stitches. After making this, I think I may even blow the dust of Machiney (my sewing machine) to recreate this card with real stitches when I'm feeling brave enough...

That's all the rainbow fun from me today - thanks so much for stopping by! Don't forget I have a little giveaway open for the software used to create the stitches on my final card so why not try your luck?

A Giveaway!

Hey!

TGI Friday! I know I'm still on my hols, but it's a bank holiday weekend here in the UK which means I can share a tiny piece of my long hols with my guy :)

Because it's Friday (and nearly the start of a 3 day weekend) I feel like celebrating. How about a little giveaway?

Well seeing as I've being delving into the digital side this week on the blog, I'm gonna continue the theme and offer the software that I've been playing with to one lucky peep!

Yup - those sweet folks at My Memories.com have given me a copy of their software - My Memories Suite - to give away! So if you're feeling a little unsure about the whole digi thing but would like to give it a go, then this is the perfect chance at getting a play for free!

Don't worry, I won't make you jump through hoops to enter. All you need to do is pop across to the My Memories.com store, have a nosy, come back here and leave a comment telling me what your fave kit is and your experience with digis (Are you new to them? Do you use them all the time? Do you like to combine digi with good ol' ink and stamps?)

All comments must be received by 9am on Thursday 1st Sept (UK time) and I'll reveal a winner later that day (the winner has a week to contact me before I draw another winner)

And before I scoot - here's another card I made with the MMS software:

Friend

Combined with a few crafty supplies of course *wink*

If you haven't seen my other projects made with MMS, you can check 'em out here , here and here! And if you can't wait to see if you win a copy of the software, then you can grab your own $10 dollar discount on it and a $10 coupon to use at the store here :)

Wishing you all a wonderful and fabulous weekend (and a long one here in the UK - yay!)

My Signature Style...

Hey!

Back again! But no surprises this time as I'm pretty sure that by now you know that Friday-Eve means a fabby new CASE study!

It's been CASE studies with a twist this month as we party on and celebrate our 1 year anniversary! Still hard to believe a year has passed since being asked to be on the most awesome DT ever! :)

So what's the twist this week? Well it's something that each and everyone of you, regardless of style of level of creativity, can join in with. We wanna see your 'signature style'! Whatever floats your boat, create it and share it with us!

So what style did I pick? Well I do dabble with a few styles every now again so I don't think I can be pinned down to just one (I'm the gal that likes to have her cake and eat it - literally!)....I like to do cute for my nieces and nephews (and for a good giggle!), I love a good colouring session and heck! I'll even attempt the whole shabby chic style for a challenge, but the style I feel most comfortable in, without a doubt is CAS (Clean and simple). Graphic design of any form makes my heart skip a beat :)

Here's my signature style (for today!)

Celebrate

Sorry piccy had to be taken at night hence the awful lighting and shadows doing this card no justice what-so-ever :(

Y'know I used to be kinda afraid to share my CAS designs here in Blogland. I figured that people would assume that I'd put in no effort to my designs and wouldn't be interested but boy, was I wrong! Trust me, it takes me waaaaaaaay longer than it should to come up with CAS cards; I feel like I have to over-think every single element as it's out there on show with a lot of space around it....

....and that's the way I like it! :) The flourish is a digi image btw, just in case you're wondering (yup, I'm finding digi to be quite addictive!)

Celebrate

Edited to insert new pic: Managed to get another pic today in natural daylight! :)

So c'mon and show us your signature style! If you need more inspiration check out the rest of the super duper CASE study DT:
