Sparkly Candy Cane Stripes...

 celebrate the season
Hey!

Oooh it's been another busy ol' week here but I'm certainly happy to see Friday Eve roll around. How about you?

Another Friday-Eve means it's time to knuckle down to a new CASE Study, and with it a brand new muse to admire! October sees the fabulous Elena Roussakis hoping on board with us and you just know that your studying eyes are going to be feasting on some fabulous projects of hers this month. I'm so excited about October already!

For example, check out this beauty of Elena's up for us to study and CASE this week:

Mmmmmm pie LOL! OK, ok, so the pie got my attention first but then I checked out that sweet banner. Stripes. I don't need much persuasion to indulge in them (or pie!). And when you're still on a mission to get your Christmas card created before Christmas Eve, it only seems logical to turn those stripes into glittered candy cane stripes!

The sentiment is part of a new set from Clearly Besotted Stamps (can you believe it's sneak peek time already for CBS?!) and is from a set called Modern Christmas designed by yours truly. I'll provide a link once the set is available for purchase on October 6th. :)

tips and tricks
  • I used super sticky tape and sprinkled fine glitter over them to create my glittered candy cane stripes. Super simple, if a little bit messy!
  • Don't restrict yourself to diagonal stripes for this technique; why not go crazy and try creating sparkly plaid by criss-crossing strips of super sticky tape?
Be sure to see what the rest of the CASE Study DT created with inspiration from Elena's project and be sure to say hellow to our Guest DT for October, Michelle Williams! We'd love it if you're inspired to create anything (yes, anything!) from Elena's fabulous project this week and share it with us.

As always, thank you soooooo much for checking out today's post. I really appreciate it and I thanks for hanging around when it's been a little quiet around here. What with OFSTED last week, a fabulous stamp show last weekend with CBS, and another inspection at work this Friday, I'm finding it hard to find time to just function! The good news is that after Friday it should be a little less chaotic.

Roll on Friday, I say! :)
