Hooray for Friday-Eve! The weekend is coming, friends - I can feel it! :D
So today marks the start of a new CASE Study to knuckle down to. I combined this form of studying with my Online Card Class homework too and created a card for Mother's Day, which is this Sunday here in the UK. Two birds. One stone. (Not found/invented the time machine yet. If I had then I'd have plenty more homework to 'hand in' to the OCC!)
So prepare to be inspired this week and get creative from this card of our muse, Joni:
Check out the original post of this card here.
I was inspired by the pink, the elements of nature and the die cut word. My take is a little more graphic and involves the techniques of masking and paper-piecing but it's all there still. My die cut word comes from the new release of word dies from Clearly Besotted Stamps. I love them! :)

- The background behind the fuchsias was created by creating a mask for the lower two thirds of the card and sponging two shades of blue Distress Inks. You don't need to mask the flowers as you can paper-piece over them after!
- I added more texture to the background by splattering water on top of the Distress Ink. Don't worry about being perfect here, but if you find an area needs more attention then don't be afraid to go in with a paintbrush to add a few extra drops.
- Make your card base fit your design. I measured how long this fuchsias border would measure and made my card width fit with that. Never feel restricted to a typical A2 card base!
I hope you can join in the creative fun with us this week! Be sure to check out the full deets of the challenge, and get a mojo-boosting shot of inspiration from the rest of the CASE Study DT over at CASE Study HQ.
That's all from me today. As always, thanks so much for stopping by!
