Altenew March blog hop!

Adventure begins
Hey!

Happy Monday! Today I'm celebrating the March 2016 release from Altenew by taking part in a fabulous blog hop with the rest of the amazing Design Team. You should have hopped across here from my talented friend, Aga! If you haven't, then be sure to start out at Altenew HQ. :)

This is one serious mega release from Altenew. In fact, there's so much that it's much easier if I simply list everything!:
  • Two 4x7" stamp sets
  • Nine mini stamp sets
  • Twenty-one die sets
  • Six new papers/cardstock
  • New acrylic blocks
  • Twelve new ink colours
Phew! That's a lot, right? After you've followed the blog hop, be sure to check out the full release here. :)

I'm struggling to create after slipping on some ice and hurting my arm, but these new goodies made me determined and inspired to create a fun shaker card using the new Ori Kami die set. It's no secret that Ori Kami is one of my favourite Altenew stamp sets, so I'm super-happy to see that we now have the co-ordinating die set available too!

The sentiment is from the Travelling mini set and I think it makes a nice alternative to a 'Bon voyage' sentiment, or for a card to send to someone who is embarking on a new chapter of their life or, as I like to see it, an adventure. :)

Right, there's vital hopping to be done and prizes to be won too! Altenew are giving away THREE $50 gift certificates – simply comment on their blog post by Friday 18th March 2016 to be in with a chance of winning one. I'm also giving away a $30 gift certificate to one randomly selected peep who comments on my blog post here by Friday, so let me know what you think of this release; it could just land you with some pennies to kick-start your shopping list!

Next on your hopping adventure is the amazingly talented, Yana! Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Hooray! It's release day!

Hooray
Hey!

I'm back today with my final card of the sneak peeks of the Clearly Besotted release. All of the fabulous new goodies showcased over the past few days are available to purchase from 10pm GMT tonight!

Today's card features the adorable Best Easter stamp set which follows on from the theme of those cutie patootie balloon animals from Best Birthday and Best Christmas. I wanted to use this set to show you that it's not only for Easter by pairing it with the Shaker Shape Hooray Circle die (which is currently half price for a limited time only!) to create a fun shaker card full of gorgeous sequins from Little Things from Lucy's Cards. :)

I paired these Clearly Besotted goodies with First Edition's brand-new Pick 'n' Mix 6x6 paper pad. I'm having lots of fun with patterned paper at the moment and I love the embossed and foil effects included in this collection. This range is available at the end of the month I believe - I got my mitts on it early through the day job. ;)

Hooray chick

I added a touch more dimension to my paper-pieced balloon cutie by using alcohol makers to add a touch of shading and a fine-line black pen and white gel pen to highlight his features. The addition of twine means you don't have to worry about fussy-cutting a stamped balloon string. Bonus!

Want to see the full reveal of the CB release and make your shopping list? Then pop across to Stephanie! You'll also find links the rest of the Design Team sharing their final project today too. It's the perfect place to visit to find some mojo-boosting inspiration!

Right, it's time for me to rest. We had some snow yesterday and I managed to slip on my walk to the office, fall over in spectacular style, twist my ankle and fall on my arm! Yeouch! Mother's Day weekend has had to be rearranged as I can't really walk but I hope that you all have a wonderful weekend and have a fabulous time being spoilt or appreciating the mums if you're celebrating Mother's Day. :)

Colourful blooms!

From all of us
Hey!

Happy Friday! I'm back today to tease you (in the nicest possible way!) with some more sneak peeks of the Clearly Besotted release before the new goodies are available to purchase from 10pm GMT tomorrow!

It was a case of caped cuties yesterday, but today I'm back with another theme that Clearly Besotted does so well: flowers. Today's cards features the new From All of Us stamp set and I decided to take some creative license when colouring my flowers so that they co-ordinate with some BoBunny stash I wanted to use on this card. :)

From all of us close up

I've gotta keep it short and sweet today so if you haven't already, then pop across to Stephanie's where she's sharing even more sneak peeks with links to the rest of the Design Team ready and waiting to tease/inspire you!

I hope you can join me tomorrow for my final card featuring the new release. Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Caped Cuties

Have a super birthday
Hey!

Happy Friday Eve! Happy March! How did it creep up on us so fast?! Well a new month here on the blogeroo means it's time to tease you with some sneak peek of the new Clearly Besotted release! The new goodies are available to purchase from 5th March at 10pm GMT. :)

Today's superhero card features the adorable Caped Cuties stamp set. This set does exactly what it says on the tin: Clearly Besotted cuties in caped form just waiting for their next adventure. I couldn't resist pairing one caped cutie with the Clearly Besotted Cityscape border die to create a fun superhero scene.

The stars come with he Caped Cuties stamp set too and the toughest thing about working with this adorable set is deciding on which caped cutie to use! It was tough to pick just one for this card, but I have a feeling that more will be featuring on future cards. ;)

tips and tricks
  • When fussy-cutting stamped images I like to use a black marker to colour the edges and avoid white edges from showing. It helps the image to blend into the design.
  • Whenever creating cards for kids I like to use bright, primary colours and they add to the superhero theme too – Superman was the inspiration for this colour combo. ;)
Well that's the end of today's superhero antics, but if you fancy more then pop across to Stephanie's blog where she'll have more sneak peeks and links to the rest of the awesome Design Team sharing their own crafting adventures. I promise you'll be left inspired. Happy endings all around!

Thanks so much for visiting my little corner of Blogland today and I hope that you can join me tomorrow for another sneak peek of the new Clearly Besotted release!
