Awesome neon inks! :)

AWESOME
Hey!

Happy Friday-Eve - the first Friday-Eve of the sweet summer holidays for me! My holidays officially started on Wednesday (minus a summer school I'm helping with next week), and you won't be surprised to know that I headed straight to crafty room to make up for some much missed crafty time! :)

First up on my summer stamping agenda is CASE Study of course! So today's card was inspired by this great, fun card by our muse for July, Jocelyn Olson.

Check out the original post of this card here.

I was really taken with Jocelyn's use of neon colours and the layout. I saw it as the perfect excuse to play with my Hero Arts neon inks (which I love so much!). I think this card could well be saved for exam results time....

tips and tricks
  • Have fun combining stamp sets from different companies. This card features two Uniko Studio stamp sets, a Hero Arts stamp set and Clearly Besotted Stamps stamp set!
  • The perfectionist in me tells me to stamp straight, but stamping at an angle as I've done on the top and bottom borders can give a card movement and energy.
  • Selectively ink sections of stamps to add more interest to them. I couldn't resist inking the star of the word 'AWESOME' with yellow neon ink to contrast against the black letters.
  • My pink neon ink was a little too bold to be stamped directly on to the card, it clashed so much it gave me a headache! So I stamped it first on scrap paper before stamping it on my card for a more subtle background pattern.
Now come on and join the fun with us. Be inspired by Jocelyn's card in any way whatsoever and get creative! Be sure to stop by the rest of the CASE Study DT for a mojo boost! :)
