A floral birthday card...

Hey!

Happy Friday-Eve - or as the case may be, Good Friday-Eve! Every Friday-Eve is good though, right? *wink*

Well good or not, it's time for another fabulous CASE Study to knuckle down to - I hope you can join in the fun with us as we CASE our muse, Jaclyn Miller. 

Today's card is inspired by this project of Jaclyn's:

OK. So I took a pretty liberal approach to this week's CASE Study but I promise that if you look hard enough, you'll find the following features from Jaclyn's project on my card:

• The use of wax paper (I used vellum for the same effect)
• Minty green goodness (It looks more blue on my pictures but I promise I used minty markers!)
• Sparkly gold (Seriously? How could I not resist that one LOL!) 
• The love hearts :)

As soon as I laid eyes on this pretty Authentique paper from the Classique: Elegant 12 x 12 collection I knew I wanted to colour it. I'd seen the talented Kathy Racoosin do something similar with stamped flowers covering a card front in the recent Online Card Class. I think I may have to try this with stamped flowers, and colour the background too; it felt so therapeutic just sat in the sunshine colouring! :)

• I used gold Cricut Iron-On Glitter material for my gold elements. It worked really well with simple paper punches! Just be sure to peel off the top, clear layer before punching/die-cutting it as you may struggle to get a clean cut if you don't.
• My vellum circle looked a little lost behind the sentiment so I stuck it in an ancient embossing folder to give it a little more interest. I purposely chose a distressed woodgrain style to coordinate with the nature/flower theme. 
• The gold touches on the patterned paper along with my punched hearts help to create a visual triangle to allow your eye to follow the design. 

Apologies that we're experiencing some extremely sunny weather and it's thrown my photography out. My photo is waaaaaaay over-exposed but I've since run out of daylight to photograph in! I hope the sunlight sticks around, I'm not complaining in any way whatsoever!
