Design a Tree...Easily!

With Love
Hey!

Happy Friday-Eve! :)

I'm doing a double today with this card as it's time for a new CASE Study and it's also the week I get to share some sneaky peeks of the Clearly Besotted Stamps April release (check out day one here.)

But first, the studying. It's a new month, which means we have a new muse on board to CASE - yay! This month we're CASEing Jacyln Miller! I first 'met' Jacyln when we were both in the final rounds of Gallery Idol 2011 and have been a fan of her creative ideas ever since. :)

So today's card is inspired by studying this card of Jaclyn's:

Check out the original post of this card here.

I think it's pretty easy to see what inspired me from Jaclyn's card. The clean and simple design, the pops of red, the layout, and the touch of sparkle. I took those elements, inked up a new CBS set - Design a Tree - and got busy! This tree stamp set is adorable and I love that the hearts are already arranged as a singular stamp to decorate the tree - it makes it soooooo easy to play with!

With Love Close Up
And of course, I couldn't resist making those hearts sparkle with touch of magic known as a clear Wink of Stella pen. ;)

tips and tricks
  • The bottom third of the card uses CBS' Tree Landscape Die. I die cut it from vellum and simply chopped off the trees to create a new style landscape that's treeless.
  • The little red heart stamped next to the sentiment helps to balance the design. The sentiment looked a little lost without it.
  • I added a fine line of glitter to the top of my die cut landscape using a glue pen and some fine, white glittler. It adds a touch more definition to the vellum panel and coordinates with the sparkly hearts. :)
Wanna see more CBS sneaky peeks? Then pop across to Stephanie's for more!

Wanna play along with us over at CASE Study? Sure you do! Pop across to CASE Study HQ for the full deets of the challenge and to get a good dose of eye candy courtesy of the DT including our guestie for the month, Catherine Pooler.

OK just one more thing. Feel free to skip it. But this blog would really appreciate your vote as it's been shortlisted in a competition to find the UK's best arts and crafts blog. If you likey, then be sure to votey! ;)

I think that's enough babbling from me for today. I'll be back tomorrow with yet another CBS sneaky peek - I hope you can join me!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
