Well what a super Friday-Eve it is over at CASE Study HQ this week as we have our fabulous new teamies joining us! So exciting and so much talent to admire! Please do pop across to check it all out after I've babbled about my take on this week's CASE Study (or now if you're bored already - ha!)
Right, let's knuckle down to some studying. Get ready to be inspired by this beautiful card from our muse, Wida Miller:
My card was inspired by Wida's use of die-cut flowers, the sparkles and the cool texture added by adhering a white die cut word repeatedly on the white card base. My texture comes in the form of translucent embossing paste through a stencil with some added watercolour splatters. :)

The die cut flowers have been coloured using watercolours. What can I say? This watercolour Online Card Class has me well and truly hooked! The fabulous Laura Bassen inspired this technique though my version doesn't have the clever twist of hers. I loved how easy it was to watercolour a die cut shape and it's certainly something I'll try out more often.

- I picked this sentiment not only because I love the font, but font also coordinates with the organic, watercolour style of the card.
- When applying the embossing paste I like to stamp the sentiment first so I can work around it. This is easy if you just use a scrap piece of card to apply the paste to small sections of the stencil.
- When adding sparkles to watercoloured images with a Wink of Stella pen be careful not to take any of the watercolour away with harsh brush strokes.
And now it's time for me to skidaddle, for at least a few hours until I have another post popping up with a card for the new Clearly Besotted Stamps challenge. :)

Loving all your watercolour posts and cards. Am very tempted to give this class a try.
The detail on this is incredible Aimes. Love the poppies!
I'm in love with Poppies, and now, even more so. Love your card Aimes =] Michele F.
I never saw a poppy I didn't like and I love that your inspiration came from the shimmer of the poppies. that die cut is perfect.
I've got some translucent paste, off to go play… thanks!
The poppie die is so beautiful but the background really caught my eye! It is so subtle but what an effect - just wow!

gorgeous flowers, Duchess. Red is always so striking against white :) Hope all is well. Our summer semester starts tonight...only one class this time, but it consists of writing Ch. 2 and 3 of our Capstone paper. Have a great weekend! ox
