Flower + Stem = Eggs + Bacon

This is my second post of the day! Please scroll down to check out my CASE Study post - Thanks! :)

Hey!

My oh my! How quickly does a month go by? It seems like only yesterday I was having the pleasure of giving you sneak peeks of the April release from The Craft's Meow and here we are again with the May release!

The Craft's Meow

You're in for a treat today as we get to give you a sneaky peeky of the gorgeous set, Flower Garden, designed by Nina.B. This set features beautiful block images of flowers giving you the flexibility to ink to perfection! However, when I was playing with this set, I had an idea and just had to roll with it:

Eggs & Bacon

Where are the flowers, you ask? Well I promise you that I was not under the influence of any intoxicating drugs whilst making this (apart from tea and chocolate) . I honestly saw eggs and bacon in Nina's designs!!! The flower makes for a fabulous friend egg when embossed and given a good dollop of glossy accents:

Couldn't you just poke that yolk?! :)

The stem is stamped in Terracotta Tile ink, then flipped and stamped again (without re-inking!) to create a rasher of bacon. I know, I know, I'm crazy - but luckily Nina.B finds this idea funny too - phew!

Now obviously this wasn't intended to be an eggs and bacon set, so be sure to check out what the rest of the TCM DT whipped up to get more sneaky peeks. Oh, and be sure to welcome our Guest Designers too - we're so happy to have Sharri Seffens and Annette Allen on board with us this month!

Fancy winning this set for yourself? Then be sure to pop across the the TCM Blog and leave a comment today!

Thanks so much for stopping by today, and for tolerating my kinda crazy approach to floral stamp set! I'll be back tomorrow with another sneaky peek - don't worry, not as crazy as this one!

Catch ya later!

Rolling, rolling, rolling....

Hey!

Happy Easter Monday! I hope you've all had a lovely weekend; ours was spent with my guy's side of the family with lots of long over-due catching up, good food and good laughter too :)

I'm sharing a card today that I'm gonna 'fess up and say made my punny heart skip a beat:

On a Roll

I don't even like sushi, but I like it in paper form. Heck, I even think I'd really enjoy making the real deal, but I'd need someone with me who would be willing to eat it :)

The rolling mat was created by lining up toothpicks and adding knotted twine to the ends. The sushi is created by quilling; I think I may have the quilling bug...it was so therapeutic to sit and roll these li'l sushi cuties! And of course, the whole 'quilling/rolling paper' fits in perfectly with the punny sentiment - hee!

This card is 'rolling' its way into the Practical Solutions: DIY Embellishments Challenge over on Moxie Fab World. I recommend you check it out (Cath's even featured another pun-tastic sushi card there by Katie Gehring) and if you fancy entering, then get your skates on - the challenge ends tonight at midnight!

Right then, I'm rolling my way outta here....I've got some cocktail sticks that need replacing!

Catch ya later!

Kickin' off summer with a happy day...

Hey!

Happy Tuesday! Happy Mid-Summer's Day! Happy Summer Solstice! Happy Wimbledon!

Oh and Happy Birthday!

To yours truly :)

Entering my last year of my twenties....should I celebrate with mature, style and decorum?

Or face the fact that I'll always be trying to cram the correct number of candles on my cake, like a kid, no matter what age I am?

Ha! Well one thing's for sure, I'm by no means worried about turning 29. I'm young at heart and that's what counts, right? I've been noted for acting closer to my shoe size than my actual age; which brings me nicely to this card I can share with you today:

4 Today

I do have size 4 feet but this card was for an actual 4 year old - my niece Ruby. She celebrated her special day a few weeks ago.

Huge dollops of Glossy Accents on that li'l critter - trust me, he's super shiny IRL! You can only see his shiny nose but he's glossy all-over because, "he's worth it!" *wink*! I questioned whether it was worth the patience of waiting for it to dry for Ruby's birthday: she opened the card, shook it to see if any money came out and when nothing came out, proceeded to the next card and present...

...I hope I can be more discreet with my own card and presents today...ha!

Right then, it's the longest day of the year (well in the Northern Hemisphere, anyways!) so I'm off to make the most of it!

Thanks so much for stopping by on my special day!

Catch ya later!
