A Kylie & Jason Card...

Especially for you
Hey!

Happy Monday! I'm not sure how I'm feeling about this Monday...it's my final week in my current employment and as much as I'm looking forward to a new adventure, a part of me is going to miss this experience. A lot. This is partly the reason for being so extremely busy lately and I can reveal all about my future career next week (I'm so excited!) Apologies, I digress - you came here to see a card, right? Well as you can see, I have one of those too. :)

I'd like to call today's card a, 'Kylie & Jason' card. I cannot get that 80s classic, 'Especially for You' out of my head as I type about it - ha! But cheesy pop classics aside, today's card features some Top Dog Dies goodness in the form of a doily from the Top Dog Dies Cherish Doilies & Tags Die Set and some leafy accents thanks to the Top Dog Dies Berry Branch Die.

tips and tricks
  • Although the berry branch die has berries on it, I simply used the top end which contains no berries.
  • I die cut the branch from white cardstock and coloured it with my Promarkers. This was much quicker than die cutting the branch twice from green and brown cardstock and placing them together.
It feels like summer is finally starting to arrive here and I think that's what influenced this fresh, summer combo of colours. Man, I'm going to miss those summer holidays!

Well my final week at school is a super busy one - I'd best get back to the books. Marking is certainly one thing that I will not miss about my job. *wink*

Thanks for stopping by today!

Scientifically Speaking...

you're a genius
Hey!

So I'm slowly playing catch-up here with the fabulous, new Clearly Besotted Stamps June release. It was so fun to actually find time to sit and stamp after what has been a crazy couple of weeks of chaos (including some super-exciting news I have to share with you, but I'm not allowed to yet!)

This card features a set that makes my geek-lovin' heart skip a beat. Scientifically Speaking is a set that features all things scientific including some pun-tastic sentiments! For this card I used the tiny molecular structure stamp repeatedly on some ancient Basic Grey patterned paper to create my own background.

you're a genius close up

The sentiment was then stamped on a strip of green for a pop of colour and I figured that this mini bulldog clip would be an appropriate embellishment for the occasion. I think this will be going into the guy card stash *wink*.

The new release is available from Thursday 5th June at 10pm BST (UK time) and I recommend you pop across to Stephanie's to check out some sneak peeks from everyone of the rest of the sets and dies available. I know I think it every month, but this release is awesome!

I really have to keep it short at sweet. My super-crazy-exciting news has left me with little time to get my head around anything else! I'll be back tomorrow though with another CBS creation so I hope you can stick around. :)

Crazy times...

 Hey!

Long time, no see/blog. Apologies!

I'm just popping in with a super-quick post to firstly assure you that I'm OK (thanks for asking!) I'm playing catch-up in the middle of some crazy work here that doesn't involve papercrafting.

As far as papercrafting 'work' goes (I'm pretty sure I can't call something I love work), I've got some serious Clearly Besotted Stamps stamping to do as the rest of the design team are doing a fabulous job showcasing this month's release. I'm really hoping to get inks to those stamps tonight...

If you can't wait for my next project, I was recently interviewed/featured by Castle Foundations. You can check out the full interview, including some of my work, here. I had to giggle that they called me a, "Crafting Extradordinare" - I could get used to that LOL! Totally complimented. :)

I'll be back real soon with something craft-worthy - promise! For now though, thanks so much for sticking around.

Right. Back to the hamster wheel...!
