Something I'd never thought I'd do....(and a bonus for you!)

Hey!

Happy Monday! Second to last Monday for me before I'm hauling myself outta bed early for work - eek! Where are these summer holidays flying by to so fast?!?!?

I'm popping in today with something that I, myself am pretty shocked that I've done....no, no need to call the police and it's not something that gives me that guilty feeling (like when I've scoffed a lot of chocolate *wink*) it's just something that's never really jumped out at me until now...

<span class=

My gorgeous geek on our holiday by the seaside the other week (this was one of the rare sunny days we had!)

....scrapbooking. And not only that, but digital scrapbooking!

Believe it or not, I did once try scrapbooking many moons ago but the whole process of getting the right digital pics printed at the right size made the craft too time consuming for me; I need something I can complete in a shorter time scale or my mind starts to wander on to a new project :)

I have to say that the digital aspect of scrapbooking makes the craft much more fun for me and quick! Now I'll always be a cardmaker at heart, and have even found it pretty easy to make some cards with this software (I'll be sharing those later in the week with ya!)

So what software did I use? Well thanks to the lovely people of My Memories I was given My Memories Suite to play with and see what I could come up with. After spending some time playing, getting used to it and even checking out some of the easy tutorials I've found the amount of things I can do with this software are endless!
  • Use your own PNG or SVG files with the software
  • Add interactive elements such as music, video or narration to your projects!
  • Share what you create pretty much anyway you like! (CD, DVD, Facebook, Flickr, Twitter etc...)
  • Constantly update with new kits in store to add to the software (including fab free ones - like the one I've used in this layout!)
  • You can even create your own Blogger header with it!
Now for the best bit of this post. The lovely people at My Memories have given me something to give all my readers! You can get a $10 off the software and a $10 coupon to use for the MyMemories.com store by entering this magical code:

STMMMS92203

So if you fancy having a nosy over there and a shop then be sure to use this code for a bit of a bargain :)

I hope you realise that I would never endorse anything that I didn't feel was up to scratch for my own personal crafty endeavours and that this is just my own opinion on the software. I know that I'll be using it again soon....stay tuned to see some cards I've made with it later this week!

Happy shopping!

Catch ya later!

Twit Twooooooooo!

Hey!

OK so I'm finally caught up on the chores, on Google Reader and I sit down all ready to get inked up and what happens...? Nothing! Nada! Mojo is still on holiday mode it seems....*sigh* Don't you just hate it when that happens!

So seeing as my mojo is MIA I figured that I could share a card with you that I made before I left for my trip by the sea-side. I had a few cards to make for birthdays last week and this week and thankfully my mojo was still with me for them!

This card was created for my nephew, Charlie's second birthday:

Twit Twoo Today!

I don't usually do cute but I do love to indulge in it every now and then and you can never beat a good pun IMHO!

Owl Close Up

I wanted to add some interest to the card for Charlie, and seeing as he's not exactly reading yet and unable to appreciate the punny sentiment, I opted for some good ol' googly eyes. I've recently inherited a huge pack of 'em since I made my guy watch the kids show, OOglies (have you seen it? It's seriously funny!) He was so inspired by it that he purchased a load of googly eyes to attach to random objects on his desk at work to make the days brighter. Gotta love that kiddy sense of humour of his :D

Seeing as this card features quite a lot of Hero Arts goodness I'm gonna enter it into their challenge this month, Creatures & Cards for Kids (also the technique of making a scene too) BTW - that owl on my card was a total bargain: it was purchased as a digi image. For less than a dollar you can print sheets of these cuties off and colour the days away - check it out for yourself here!

Right I'm off to get some inspiration around blog land to get my mojo into gear. I'll be back tomorrow with a new CASE study - mojo or no mojo - ha!

Catch ya later!

If at first it doesn't get picked up...

Hey!

I'm B.A.C.K! Did you miss me?! I missed you! Sad to think how much influence modern technology has on my daily life; gimme a week in Wales without a phone signal and I break out in a cold sweat! LOL! Our time by the sea-side was fun - albeit a bit soggy *wink*

My fingers have been itching to get inky since setting foot through our front door. As you can imagine, I have a mountain of unpacking and washing to get through first so I figured I could cheat and share a card with you that you can find in the July/Aug 2011 Issue of Paper Crafts Mag. (Photo courtesy of Paper Crafts btw!)

Love You

Now I only wished the skies were like this in Wales last week LOL!

Li'l story about this card: I was smitten with it once I'd made it (I hope I'm allowed to say that!) and was secretly happy not to part with it when it faced rejection for the first call I submitted it for. But it was so sweet that I dared to submit it again about a month or so later for a different call (creative use of die-cuts) and BINGO! The start of my card's adventrue beings....and ends up with someone who wins it from the Paper Crafts Connection blog. Hope they love it just as much as I loved it :)

Moral of the story: sometimes a card may not be destined for one call but is worth submitting again if it suits a future call even more than the original call (FYI: I wouldn't submit a card more than twice - I'd have definitely got the message then that it's just not what they're looking for! )

Before I dash to tackle the mountain of upacking to do, I've also drawn a winner from our CASE Study Blog Hop Party. What a party it was - thank you for joining in with us! Here's who random.org picked

which means that Indy is the winner of a $20 Gift Certificate for Snapily and secondly a $15 Gift Certificate for the stamping company of her choice (provided the company offer GCs!) Congrats! Send me an email (click on the Contact me tab) with your deets and who you'd like your Gift Certificate from and I'll organise it for ya!

Hopefully I'll be back soon with something new to share with ya!

Catch ya later!
