Happy Monday! Much happier than last Monday for me as I have my voice back and some much needed rest over the weekend has shifted my icky cold - hurrah!
I'm easing into Monday today with a super simple card that uses a layout that I think I'll always love no matter what size the card. Size just doesn't matter when it comes to this sweet layout!
This is one card from a set I made for a sweet friend of mine for Christmas. I wanted to make the cards flat so it wouldn't be any inconvenience to my friend if she wished to send any of the cards through the post. You don't know how hard it was to resist the temptation to tie pretty bows on these cards or embellish with buttons! Nevertheless it was a great way to not only give a present from the heart, but also make me use up my
Patterned paper is something I love to stroke, 'ooooh' and 'ahhhh' over but struggle to use. I think using it as a base of a card is the best way for me to tackle my way through the piles of it: giving room to replenish with new stocks and start the process all over again! *happy sigh*
Right then, I'm off to the gym now because I ate WAY too many dough-balls over the weekend (to aid my cold recovery of course *wink*!)
Thanks so much for stopping by and visiting!
Catch ya later!

LOVE the polka dotted base, Miss Aimes! And the super simple LO is divine! I'm just like you--hoarder, er, collector of pp...just never seem to use it all, though! :D
Hi Aimes,
A belated Happy New Year to you and yours and I hope you can begin to enjoy it more now you are over your cold. I really like your simple and elegant card design. Like you, I am resolved to use up old paper before I buy more and this is a great way to start.
Hugs

This is too cute :) Love all the polka dots. Darling card.
I struggle with actually *using* my patterned paper stash too, but this is F.A.B.!
A very pretty CAS card. Great way to use up the older PP. Same problem here. Just hate to use the 'pretty' paper up. I should 'wallpaper' the stamping room with it if I'm not going to use it for my cards!
What a wonderful card!!
Love that you used the pattern paper for the base of your card! I NEVER do that! Gotta love those dots!
I really like the simple design of this card Aimes and the patterned paper background is so yummy!
Love the way the circles in the paper are reflected in those on the tree. Great colour too!
Hey, this is one awesome idea! I just won tons and tons of patterned paper and making these cards would be a great way to use it up! Thanks for the idea!
This is indeed a layout to love!!! I'm with you on the patterned papers - love them but have a really hard time using them unless I use only one :)
Your card is fabulous and perfect for mailing!!!
Hey there...glad you are feeling better..was thinking insight have to send you off for a spa week....love the clean card set...looks great with the polka dot paper!
Love this card! That polka dot background is so yummy and love your CAS design.
Wooohoooo - that *is* a layout to love Aimes! Your patterned paper is such a perfect match for that cutie wonderful tree! Making a set of cards to giveaway with this layout looks quite doable too ... hmmm I'm inspired and the wheels are turning now!! (I truly hope you're feeling completely better soon - HUGS to you!)
Very sweet. Love the polka dot background. I have that problem with PP too. Glad you are feeling better. Hope this week is better for you!
ah, seems like you and me were the only ones at work today...oh, and Lynn too :( Wasn't that bad except a few of my little boys were adding "parts" to their snowman outside!! Gotta love those 7 year olds! LOVE the patterned paper on the card base...I'm kind of into that too and agree it's a great way to use it up!! Glad your cold is getting better :) hugs!
So glad to hear this week is off to a good start and that you are feeling better. Wonderful CAS card--love those cool dots!
Love that cute little tree! I have that stamp set and it is so fun to use. I also have to add that I too am a paper hoarder, stroker, buyer, etc. Love it! Glad you are feeling better.
Lovely card! Super simple & sweet. I also struggle a similar patterned paper affliction...have a long way to go to work through my stash. Maybe a good challenge theme over at A Passion for Papertrey?!
Hey you - glad to hear you kicked that cold up the butt and are feeling better - must've been something in the dough balls (what ever in god's name they are!!).
I am loving this card Aimes - I was just drooling over the WM website last night thinking how much I need this framed set! I do have the PTI one though - do I need another????
Big hugs,
Caryn xxx
