Hope it tickles...

Hey!

TGI Friday! I know I'm already on my hols but the good news is that my guy has the next two weeks off - I was starting to get pretty lonely hangin' out by myself LOL!

Well if you haven't heard already, I won't be cruising with Paper Crafts Mag in November. I didn't win the final of Gallery Idol but I'm so happy that Cristina did! Honestly, I found it really tough to ask people to vote for me when she was entering one awesome creation after another! I had an awesome creative adventure with this group and want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your support! You have all been absolutely fabulous! I wish I could come and thank you all in person but that would cost a fortune....

....so hows about I treat you to card instead? A card that I'm unashamed to say really 'tickles' my funny bone:

Hope it tickles

What's so great about this, you ask? Well lemme just pull on that ribbon for ya:

Hope it tickles 2

Ooooh what have we got here?

hope it tickles 3

That tree is blooming before my very eyes!

Hope it tickles 4

Nearly there...

Hope it tickles 5

Tip: if like me, you don't own any black Staz-On ink to stamp on acetate, try stamping the image on paper and tracing it on to the acetate using an OHP or CD pen!

Hope it tickles + tag

Fabby, indeedy!
*grin*

This whole idea was inspired by the current Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge:

Admittedly I totally CAS-ified that sketch, but the main element is still there (hope it still counts!)

Right I'm off to do some holiday shopping. I may not be cruising around the Caribbean, but I'll be wading in Wales next week! :)

Have a super duper weekend and I hope I've kicked it off by tickling your funny bone *wink*

Catch ya later!

Card Deets
{Hope it Tickles}
Stamps: Teeny Trees, Frame-it (Waltzingmouse Stamps)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Memento)
Cardstock: Stamper's Select White, Kraft (Papertrey Ink)
Accessories: Cuttlebug, Distressed Embossing Folder (Provocraft)/Nestabilities/Simply Chartreuse Grosgrain Ribbon, Rustic Button Twine, Tag Die (Papertrey Ink)/Acetate

Congratulations on getting to the Gallery Idol final - I know it's not quite a cruise but it's ABSOLUTELY something to be very proud of :)

Right, I'm off to peruse ALL of your creations to see if I can't pick something to CASE for the CASE study challenge this week. Just one?! How am I going to do that! :)

okay, this is just toooooooooo amazing...I really had to go back and rub my eyes!! You are magic!! (but I knew that already!)...I'm thinking there are layers of acetate and paper on that little book mark and a piece of paper on the frame...so clever, but I would need a tutorial or I'd spend the rest of my summer figuring out an easy way of doing this :) Have a fabulous trip and you will always be #1 Idol in my books, Duchess :)

Cathy Weber said...

I need to know how to do this one! I have examined it as best I can and still can't quite figure it out. Two tag layers? Acetate with the branch on top? Still not sure. You have to tell us the trick and go against the magicians code never to tell their secrets!

Chinnu said...

So creative! But I'm so puzzled how you did this - please please post a tutorial! Thanks.
