Paint a pretty picture...

Happy Holidays! I hope you've had/are having a wonderful time, whatever you're up to :)

It may be the busiest time of the year, but nothing delays a CASE Study so let's get straight to it!

Check out this card by our muse, Windy Robinson, and be prepared to get inspired:

To see the original post of this card, click here.

I was inspired by those flowers, the grey cardbase and the layout. I was also requested to make a birthday card for my dad to give to my mum (who celebrates her special day on Boxing Day) so cue a floral birthday card for just for her:

Watercolour Birthday
Tip: Stamp in light grey ink on watercolour paper to give the apperance of a painting painted from scratch

It's been soooooooo long since I've played with watercolours, but I had the urge to paint so I went with the creative flow. I also have some cool, metallic watercolours so as a nod to Windy's use of bling, I painted the centre of those flowers gold. They shimmer so prettily IRL. I'm sure a watercolour master could make those flowers look stunning, but my mum is probably my number one fan so I know she'll claim to like it anyway! *wink*

We know it's a super duper busy time of the year so this CASE Study is a two week-er and takes us to the end of 2012. But before you gallop ahead into 2013, be sure to take a peek at what the rest of the amazing CASE Study DT inked up for your festive, viewing pleasure:

Amy Wanford (That's me!)

Oh, and if you do find a spare creative moment, be sure to play along with us too! :)

Wishing you all a fabulous New Year! Here's to 2013! Cheers! *clink*

Celebrate the season...

Happy Christmas Eve!

Just in case you'd thought I'd vanished off the end of the Earth, I haven't! I'm still here (and might I add: with the broadband up and running!) but battling a icky winter illness as I've been putting every last ounce of energy into seeing the end of the school term!

School's out now and I'm getting back to myself, just in time for Christmas. Still got a few things on my list to do, and I didn't send out nearly as many cards as I'd have liked (think I may have to make some New Year cards to make up for it!) but one things for certain, the presents are wrapped:

celebrate the season

I do love kraft and red for Christmas and decided it to be my colour scheme for most of my wrapping. Now this style of wrapping was inspired by this picture:

A Collection

This pic is also our latest challenge on A Passion for Papertrey. Seeing as it's the holidays, we've extended the deadline to the end of 2012 so if you find some spare inky time during the festivities (who am I kidding?!) then play along with us! :)

Now I must dash as Christmas won't wait for me! Wishing you a fabulous Christmas and if I don't 'see' you before, a very, very Happy New Year too!

Two cards for a two weeker....

Hurrah for Friday-Eve! Is it wrong to look forward to the weekend so I can spend it unpacking more boxes in our new home?

Let's kick off this winter weekend with a shiny, new, festive CASE Study to indulge in:

Ready to study? I hope so! Time to hit the books by getting some inspiration from this card of Windy Robinson's:

Check out the original post of this card here.

Red and green - my favourite colours for a Christmas card (I'm a traditional kinda gal when it comes to the season). From my past cards you may be thinking that I took inspiration from those bells and got jingly again, but in fact I was inspired purely by the colours and the dots. Lots of dots!

The perfect excuse to whip up a couple of super simple cards with my new favourite die methinks:

Now this week's CASE Study is extended. It's a two weeker so it seems kinda fitting that I've made two cards for the fortnight *wink*

Be sure to check out what the rest of the CASE Study DT whipped up for you this fortnight too - it'll be like all of your Christmases have come at once! :)

And I hope you can ink along with us. Think of it as the perfect excuse to whip up that extra festive card for the season *wink*

Right - the broadband is due to be up and ready at our new place from Monday. Hurrah! So we should be back to my regular blogging schedule/stalking as of next week (fingers crossed!).

Now I'm off to find my address book. Typical me: I get my cards made in plenty of time and then lose my address book in a box so I can't post them! Ha!

Thank you so much for visiting today - I always appreciate your visits :)

Gettin' jingly with it....

It's true what they say y'know - you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone. We've had no broadband now for a few days during our big move and I never realised how much I relied on it! Not quite getting withdrawal symptoms as I'm too busy unpacking/cleaning and I always have a few home technology comforts at work *wink*

Work. Where I am right now as I bring to you a fabulous new CASE Study with a fabulous new muse to celebrate this snowy and icy Friday Eve! (Don't worry - school finished a while ago. I'm not bloggin' on the job!)

Our new muse for December is Windy Robinson! And to warm those mojos up on this chilly day we have this card of Windy's up for CASEing:

Check out the original post of this card here.

I was inspired by the square shape of Windy's card along with her use of patterned paper (something that I always struggle to actually use), and the general layout of the card too. Once again, I put another holiday spin on those elements to make a card that I really must send out now!

Season's Greetings

OK, so I added a couple of bells to that bow but I seriously couldn't resist. I can't wait to jingle my way to the post office to post some of my jingly cards with a skip in my step :)

Be sure to check out what the rest of the CASE Study DT whipped up and welcome our Guest DT for December, Wida!

Amy Wanford (That's me!)

That's me done. I'm now heading home for some more unpacking and maybe, just maybe, inject a little bit of the season into the new home *wink*

As always, thanks so much for stopping by and I'll be back to my regular blogging schedule and stalking as soon as possible :)

Twine, Dots & a Stick...

Hip, hip hooray - it's Friday Eve! Although I'm surrounded by boxes packed and ready to be moved this weekend, I'm still ready to knuckle down to a new CASE Study!

And how could I not study this week? It's our final week with Angeline as our awesome muse. I've loved her creations up for CASEing and this week is of no exception:

Check out the original post of this sweet card here

I was totally taken Angeline's use of twine, the idea of using a stick and the dotty embossing. You won't be surprised to know that I took these elements and gave them a Christmas twist *wink*

Merry & Bright

It's all there, I promise. Twine, dotty embossing and a stick (although it's not a lolly-pop stick, a toothpick still counts right?!). In addition I've added some sparkle to celebrate the magic of the season :)

Not only do you want to play along to make the most of being able to legitimately CASE Angeline, but we also have a sponsor. Clearly Besotted Stamps are giving one peep playing along the chance to win some goodies - you may think I'm biased, but I'm telling you honestly: these stamps are a pleasure to ink up! :)

Need to kick-start the mojo? Then check out the rest of the super duper CASE Study DT:

Right then, back to the packing! Thanks so much for stopping by today - fingers crossed I'll be back to reality in a week or so when we get our broadband set up...

Christmas: Uniko Studio Style!

Can you feel it? Can you hear it? Yup - those holidays are coming and before you know it we'll be celebrating the season!

Now we're a little bit crazy in our house: seeing as we've decided that December is the perfect time to move house we've had to be super organised when it comes to Christmas. The shopping is done, we're gatecrashing family for the food (and company of course!) and thanks to the new release from Uniko Studio, most of my Christmas crafting is complete!

So get ready to celebrate the season (or any other season!) Uniko Studio style!

First up there's three new fabulous clear stamp sets available:
  • Wonderful Washi: Christmas
  • Label Love: Christmas
  • Pure Florals: Poinsettia
I inked up Label Love: Christmas to create a gift card holder with bells on - literally! :)

Gift Card Holder

Love is an understatement when it comes to this set - I want to stamp labels on EVERYTHING!

I've never got jingly for the season but after seeing my buddy Diva rock the bells on her festive creations I just had to try for myself. Cue me jumping around the room jingling this gift card holder - I may struggle to part with it!
Gift Card Holder Open

Simply slide up (or untie if you fancy trying to tie it back up again!) the twine to reveal a pocket to house the gift card of your choice.

I also inked up the set Wonderful Washi: Christmas and  combined it with one of the new digital cut files: On The Edge.
Let it snow

Stamping on acetate is always magical to me and that snowflake strip coordinates perfectly with the the digi cut methinks even if it is a pain to try and photograph!

Uniko Studio are actually releasing 4 digital cut files:
  • Decorative Doilies - The Hands Of Time
  • Christmas Polaroids
  • On The Edge
  • Sparkling Snowflakes
I tell you what, I don't actually own a digital die cutting machine but Bev kindly sent me some cut outs and I'm certainly tempted to invest in one. Thanks for the enabling, Bev! *wink*

Now I told you earlier that my Christmas shopping was done. And now, thanks to the digi cut file: Decorative Doilies - The Hands of Time, my Christmas wrapping is done too!

Such a simple idea to decorate a present and I'm a sucker for kraft and red for the season.

I simply stamped the doilies from the set, Decorative Doilies - The Hands of Time and layered them up to create a pretty present topper.

Still on the digi cut files, I used the Christmas Polaroids and Sparkling Snowflakes to whip up a super-simple, super graphic card for the season.

Easy as 1,2,3 for this card! The hardest part: deciding whether to add a gem to the JOY sentiment!

Now it's like all your Christmases have come at one over at Uniko Studio because on top of all of this, there's also 7 new digital paper collections too as well as 2 digital stamp sets!

2 Digital Stamp Sets:
  • Holly Jolly Christmas
  • Sparkling Snowflakes
7 Digital Patterned Paper Collections:
  •  Classics Christmas
  •  Classics Winter
  •  Eclectic Mix Christmas
  •  Eclectic Mix Winter
  •  Text Style Christmas
  •  Text Style Winter
  •  'Tis The Season
Be sure to check 'em out over at Uniko Studio; my printer in our house is all packed up and ready for moving but once I install it in the new place I'll be printing and playing before I know it! :)

Phew! That's a whole lotta new goodies and I can say, my Christmas is now complete! All that's left for me to do is sit and wait for the festive fun to commence (oh, and move house too! Ha!)

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Substituting leaves for snowflakes...

Really? Friday-Eve already? This week is zooming by which is probably an indication of just how busy it's proving to be for me!

Edited to add: Happy Thanksgiving to peeps across the pond! :)

Let's celebrate our Friday-Eve CASE Study stylee:

And feast your creative eyes on this piece of perfect stamping from our muse, Angeline.

Check out the original post of this card here.

I think it's near impossible to not be inspired to pick up your stamps and get inking after seeing Angeline's card. I wanted to play with my stamps in the same fashion, and I figured that seeing as we'll be moving house next month, I'd best make it a Christmas card *wink*

Happy Holidays
***Apologies for the pic - it's sooooooo dark now that I need a day off work or I need to get myself organised to take pics over the weekend.***

Hopefully you can tell that I followed the same idea of stamping a border around a central sentiment only I substituted leaves and berries for snowflakes. I also couldn't resist adding some yummy new twine I've purchased too :)

Be sure to check out what the rest of the super duper talented CASE Study DT inked up for your viewing pleasure:

Better late than never....

Happy Friday-Eve (well there's only a teeny bit of it left over here but it still counts *wink*)

I'm very late to the party to celebrate a shiny new CASE Study.

Broadband woes left me with a photographed card ready to share with everyone, but powerless to upload it! The good news is that we're back in business with the broadband so feast your eyes on this beauty by our muse, Angeline up for CASEing this week:

Check out the original post of this card here.

Did I mention how much I love Angeline's style? Well I do! I was taken with the kraft card-base (something that I hardly use), the very simple layout and the use of colour. I took these elements and added a holiday twist to them to come up with another card for the Christmas stash:

Happy Holidays

If - like myself -  you're a little late to the CASE Study Challenge this week then don't miss out on what the rest of the CASE Study DT inked up for your viewing pleasure:

Amy Wanford (That's me!)
Angeline Yong Jeet Leen (November's Muse)

Now if you need persuading some more to ink along with us, we have a sponsor this week. Our sponsor this week is Elizabeta Kushner, with her Etsy shop! One lucky peep will win 3 digis of their choice!

It's waaaaaaay past my bed-time here and this gal needs her beauty sleep and energy for one crazy day at work tomorrow (it's Children in Need so cue lots of dressing up, donating and devouring of scrummy cakes - all for a good cause of course! *wink*)

Going circular dotty for the season...

Happy Friday-Eve, Peeps! (Yes, I'm back to calling Thursday Friday Eve now I'm back at work - *wink*)

So Friday-Eve means it's time to knuckle down and study CASE Study stylee!

And here's what's up for studying courtesy of our September muse, Angeline Yong:

Check out the original post of this card, here.

Now I love Angeline's style and this card had me swooning. I was especially taken with the layout and the use of circles and gems so I took these features and inked up some Clearly Besotted Stamps in the process:

Season's Greetings

In fact, I think I may have gone a tad OTT with the circles/dots but nevermind!

Now not only have I used Clearly Besotted Stamps because I love them, but they're sponsoring CASE Study this week too. Be sure to ink along with us for the chance to win some CBS goodness! :)

I'll admit that I feel like my mojo has gone walkies after a week away from my stamps so I urge you to check out the rest of the CASE Study DT for a good mojo boost:

Amy Wanford (That's me!)
Angeline Yong Jeet Leen (November's Muse)

Before I dash, I just want to take the opportunity to thank you all for the wonderful, heartfelt messages about my happy news. My guy and I are feeling very blessed to be in receipt of such warming well wishes - thank you and have a great weekend! ♥

Giving some inky love (and getting lovey dovey in general!)

Oooh it feels like an age since I was blogging! I'm pleased to see that my scheduled posts worked while I was away (Thanks, Blogger!)

While I've been away on one of the most memorable holidays ever, a new challenge posted on our A Passion for Papertrey Blog (Have you checked out our new blog/blog makeover - you should y'know *wink*)

The new challenge asks you to give a little inky love to those stamp sets that require it. Y'know what I'm talking about: those sets you just *had* to have but have hardly inked up since you got your inky mitts on 'em.

For my card I inked up Rosie Posie; a set that has hardly seen any ink at all (it was those hexagons entinced me purchase that set)

Happy Holidays

I used the daisy stamp as the glow of the candle and an outline shape from the set, Modern Basics to create a flame. Although it's only a thin strip of patterned paper, I'm totally patting myself on the back for using some. *wink*

So come and ink along with us! You need only use on PTI product to enter and remember that our challenge are now global! Worldwide entries welcome for the chance to win a $5 PTI GC.

Now before I dash. I mentioned earlier that I've been away on one of the most memorable holidays ever. Normally a hurricane would make a holiday super memorable, but this is the real memory that will last with me:

Click the pic for a close up :)

My guy proposed and I said YES! Hee!

Stripes = Candy Cane

Kinda sad to announce it's Friday-Eve means it's nearing the end of my holiday (this post is scheduled in case you're wondering) maybe, just maybe, I'll call today Thursday *wink*

Let's keep some things the same though: let's celebrate this day of the week, whatever you want to call it, in the usual manner.

Now can you believe it's November? A new month means a new muse and I'm not ashamed to say I squealed with delight when I was told our muse this month would be the amazing Angeline Yong Jeet Leen!

Check out this amazing card of Angeline's up for CASEing this week:

Check out the original post of this card here.

Oh how I love this card. So many directions I could go with it! Unfortunately I was pushed for time to whip something up before I jetted away to Canada, but the new digital freebie from Uniko Studio gave me the perfect excuse to put a holiday spin on those stripes that inspired me from Angeline's card.

One of the more graphic designs of my holiday cards methinks! :)

Be sure to check out how the rest of the CASE Study DT have been inspired and join me in welcoming a new member to the CASE Study DT family: Jeanna Jachna!

Amy Wanford (That's me!)
Angeline Yong Jeet Leen (November's Muse)

Now c'mon and play along with us! We'd love to see the results of your own CASE Study session!

Carried away with chevrons...

Yay for the weekend, yay for half-term and yay for holiday! :)

Speaking of holidays (smooth link there, don't ya think?!), Uniko Studio have a holiday-themed Super Free Saturday for you! It's called 'Ho Ho Ho' and I reckon you're gonna love it *wink*

My projects with this freebie are super fast and super simple - my kinda crafting when I've got a suitcase to pack and a million and one other things to do!

First up a simple tag:

Sending you Joy

I simply printed the lovely bauble, coloured, stamped a custom sentiment from the Uniko Studio set Pure Florals: Gebera, threaded silk ribbon through and finished with gems. Easy peasy.

For my next project, I got a little carried away with chevrons:

Celebrate the Season

As soon as I printed that fab, fun chevron DP I just knew that I had to pair it with the chevron trees from my own set, O Christmas Tree. It's a match made in Lapland methinks!

Now I'm no digi master - this is just me printing out and having fun. Be sure to see what the rest of the Uniko Studio DT whipped up, especially the *new* Uniko Studio Digital DT! Oh and be sure to grab the freebie for yourself and have a play with it - digi isn't half as scary as some of you may think, I promise!

Pssst: did you know that Uniko Studio have a sale on? Hurry, it ends on Nov 1st and there's a bargain (or two!) to be had....*wink*
