Apologies, Blogger gremlins & a winner...

Hey!

Hip hip hooray for Friday! It can't come soon enough after the past couple of weeks here - it's been manic. Roll on the weekend!  I also see that the Blogger gremlins have been in force whilst I had my back turned and you've missed out on a couple of schedule posts over the past two weeks. I'm so sorry!

So, let's play here's-what-you-should-have-seen-ages-ago with a happy blog post to catch-up and announce the winner from the Altenew blog hop! The lucky winner of two new Altenew stamp sets of their choice is...

...drumroll please....

Donna Dacy!

"Donna Dacy said...
Your cards are beautiful. I love the rose layering stamp. It makes such lovely cards. I also love the wood background stamp. Your choice of colors is wonderful. Great job! TFS"

Congrats Donna! Could you please email me to arrange sorting out the prize for you. Thank you!

A HUGE thank you to everyone who was extremely kind and sweet about my starstruck appearance on such an amazing blog hop. I still can't believe I was in that line up of bloggers. So much talent! Speaking of which, if you haven't already, be sure to pop across to Altenew to check out their new DT. One word: Amazing!

On another note, it seems that the Blogger gremlins also kept some Clearly Besotted projects for themselves too during the sneak peeks of the Feb release. I've informed them that sharing is caring and hope to catch up soon with them. In the meantime I also hope to reveal a crafty adventure that I've been working on that's kept me from Blogland recently...stay tuned!

Thanks so much for sticking around and apologies again for the technical glitches!

Have a fabulous weekend, and a wonderful Mother's Day for those of us in the UK celebrating it!

Be happy

BE HAPPY
Hey!

I'm back again to continue with the sneak peeks of the new Clearly Besotted release (available for purchase from 5th March 10pm UK time) with a card that uses a mixture of goodies. I love combining products to create something new - I always feel like I'm getting even more use from my beloved supplies. :)

So it's a case of eye-spy with this card – I used the birdhouse die from the So Tweet Die Collection as a stand-alone shape and added the 'be happy' sentiment from On Your Day and stamped a couple of subtle sunburst images from the Sunburst stamp set.

Of course, I couldn't resist throwing in a Hambly Screenprint and some geometric-stenciled-goodness too along with the obligatory sequin and star sequins. :)

tips and tricks
  • The triangular design of the stencil echoes and complements the shape of the birdhouse as do the hearts on the Screenprint.
  • Get more from your co-ordinating die and stamp collection by considering using the die shapes alone and decorating them.
  • Do you think I threw away the negative heart from this die-cut shape? Of course not! Always save them - they can make the perfect finishing touch to a future project.
Well that's all from me today. As always, please do pop along to Stephanie's if you haven't already and check out even more sneak peeks from both herself and the amazing Design Team. You won't be disappointed!

I'll be back tomorrow (release day!) to share another sneaky peek in time for you to make your shopping list. ;)

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Celebrate new CB goodies!

CELEBRATE
Hey!

Well it's hard to believe that it's March already. The weather certainly doesn't feel like spring as I've had to commute through snow this morning!

Nevertheless it's a new month which means it's time for a new release of goodies from Clearly Besotted! So cue a few days of sneaky peeks before the new release is available for you to purchase from 5th March 10pm (UK time!).

I was torn on what to play with first from the release, but I thought we could kick things off with a little celebrating. Celebrating with the new set, Sunburst, which features fabulous burst-style images for you to layer and create custom patterns with. Did I mention that it also contains two sentiments in an extremely versatile font? I love it!

I stamped my circles off the side of the card front to create layered semi-circle pattern. It kinda has a Cinqo de Mayo/Mexican vibe to it. Maybe it's those colorus! Anyways here's an example of extremely simple stamping from a crafter with limited time LOL!

tips and tricks
  • Swap the colours to create a different feel to the card. Soft pretty colours would work just as well for a more feminine feel.
  • The tiny pattern stamped by the sentiment helps to balance the design – I just couldn't resist adding a gem too.
  • The 'oomph' factor for this card is the bright-coloured card base. It really does make the stamped panel 'pop'!
  • I stamped this pattern by marking the midpoint of the cardstock first and stamping around it to ensure the pattern was equal. You can always stamp more than you need in length then trim the ends for an easier option.
Well that's all from me today (better late than never, right?) but if you haven't already, then do check out what's happening over at Stephanie's and see who else is sharing some sneak peeks of this fabulous release.

I'll be back tomorrow! Thanks for stopping by today!
