Uniko Studio birthday blog hop!

Just for you
Hey!

Happy Friday Eve! I'm back again today, joining in with Uniko Studio's 4th birthday celebrations (if you missed me joining in the fun yesterday, click here).

Today there's a fun blog hop happening to celebrate not only Uniko Studio's 4th birthday but the February's release of fab stamp sets too. If you've popped across here from the blog then be sure to start out at the Uniko Studio blog. :)

Today's card features stamped images from the fab Limited Edition 2016 Birthday Freebie stamp set. Get your orders in quick and you may just find yourself with this lovely set in your inky mitts too! I stamped a solid image four times to create a frame, cut out the centre carefully with a craft knife and affixed a piece of patterned paper in the aperture with a heat-embossed sentiment. So simple!

I'm keeping it short and sweet today as there's vital hopping to be done and prizes to be won! I've had a blast partying along with Uniko Studio for their 4th birthday celebrations – thanks so much for inviting me on board!

Next on the blog hop list is another fellow Uniko Studio Design Team alumni member: the fabulous Taheerah! Happy hopping!

Happy News x2

Hey!

I'm popping by today to give you a head's up on a couple of exciting things (well, exciting to me anyway!)

First up, I'm gatecrashing guest blogging over on Moxie Fab World today. I'm babbling about an inspiring and super-trendy post from Miss Moxie Fab herself, Cath Edvalson, and hopefully injecting some of it into a project!

Here's a sneak peek of my project:

Watercolour Super Close

Pop across to Moxie Fab World to check it out! :)

Next on the agenda I have some more happy news; I've been asked to join the Top Dog Dies Spring Design Team!  Check out the announcement here. I can't wait to get those dies cranking through my Cuttlebug. I've just got to be patient and wait for them to jump across pond *wink*!

That's all my happy news of the day. Thanks for letting me share my happy day of happy news with you!

I hope you have a terrific Tuesday!

Snowflakes. Squint and you might see some!

Let it Snow
Hey!

Happy Sunday! If you're anything like me, today you're starting to let the panic start to set in that you've done hardly anything for the holidays yet....! Eeek!

Worrying aside, I'm here today to share that I'm playing along with those talented Curtain Call Challenge gals as a guest designer. Thanks so much to Stacey for asking me to share the stage today!

So today's card was inspired by this piccy for today's Sweet Snowflakes Curtain Call Challenge:

I was taken by the blue and pink colour combo and decided upon blue snowflakes and pink, glossy hearts. The winter daylight is doing my photography no favours here so sit up close to that monitor, squint, and squint some more and you just might be able to see some snowflakes falling from that cloud. :)

OK. Stop squinting. Here's a close up, but it's not much better I'm afraid!

Let it snow (close up)
I think you're just going to have to trust me that you can really see these pretty snowflakes much better IRL!
tips and tricks
  • To add a bit of extra dimension, I've covered my hearts with Glossy Accents and smothered my cloud with my clear Wink of Stella pen.
  • To add Glossy Accents to tiny embellishments easily, I like to stick them to a tiny piece of blu-tack so they don't stick to the table!
  • The design looked lost on a larger piece of cardstock, so I've created it on a smaller piece and mounted it on an extra layer.
The challenge is sponsored by Uniko Studio so it seemed rude not to ink up my Uniko Studio Stunning Snowflakes stamp set for it. The LEAD of this challenge will win a gift certificate to spend at the Uniko Studio store too. :)

Be sure to see how the special guests and crew inked up Stunning Snowflakes too. I'm pretty sure you'll be able to see their snowflakes without risking square eyes! *wink*

Love You (but I'm saying goodbye)...

love you
Hey!

Happy Wednesday! Happy release day, Uniko Studio! Yup, the two new sets that my fellow DT and I have been sharing for the past two days (here and here) are available to purchase N.O.W! :)

Ooh and there's a deal on for today only:

As always, we're celebrating release day with a good ol' blog hop. You should have hopped along here from the Uniko Studio Blog so if you haven't then be sure to start out there.

I felt that I owed a bit more inky love to the new set, 'Always & Forever' seeing as I only shared a teeny heart and a partially inked sentiment from it yesterday! So here we have one large heart from the set. A total 180 from the masculine style projects of the past two days and super sweet in pink with sherbet-esque shades of colour. :)

tips and tricks
  • I used Distress Inks on the stripes of the design and this gave a more textured, uneven impression. I like to think that the fact it's not evenly stamped adds a bit of texture. :)
  • I debated for far too long on whether to attach the heart straight or at an angle. I let my crazy, care-free side win out on this one. I'm hoping it adds a bit of fun to the design.
  • I prefer to use pigment ink on large solid designs if I want an evenly inked impression. For a guaranteed good stamp, I like to place a sheet of foam underneath.
That's just about everything from me today, but before you hop along to Amber I have some news to share. You've probably guessed already from the title of today's post, but I've made the decision to step down from the Uniko Studio DT. I've been with Uniko Studio since day one and I'd like to thank Bev for having me on board for so long. It's been fun and I've been lucky enough to be surrounded by a lovely DT. It's sometimes tough saying goodbye, but the real world outisde of this wonderful hobby is calling me to step up and if I keep burning the candle at both ends I'll be burnt out!

Now before we get a little too sentimental and tearful, I'm going to send you off to hop along to Amber. :)

Getting loved up (Part 2)...

Always
Hey!

Welcome back to the Uniko Studio sneak peeks for the December release! If you missed yesterday's post, then check it out here.

So yesterday I shared a mini envie with you that I'd decorated with Uniko Studio's All Occasion Sentiments #5 (and other various sets) and today I'm showing the mini card that fits perfectly into it.

Today's ultra-CAS card gives you a peek the new Uniko Studio set, Always & Forever. The set features two larger heart stamps and this teeny one along with a variety of sentiments.

tips and tricks
  • I created the sentiment, 'Always' by partially inking the sentiment 'Always & Forver'. Single word sentimetns can pack a punch and compliment this CAS design.
  • The triangle balances the heart. I simply stamped and embossed it once directly on to the card-base and then stamped and embossed it on a triangular die cut. The two will line up perfectly and so long as you stamp the heart centrally on the card-base, the triangle will be central too.
And just to prove that this card is tiny enough to fit into the mini-envie I shared here yesterday, here they are side-by-side.

BE MINE Always
I've really gone and juxtaposed the fussy, almost OTT design of the mini-envie against the ultra-CAS design of the card. It wasn't really intentional, and I designed the card before the envie. I guess I just got carried away a little when decorating the envie....!

The rest of the Uniko Studio DT are giving sneaky peeks of this set too and I reckon they'll have used more than one tiny heart and one partially inked sentiment from it. Be sure to check 'em out to get a good peek!

I'll be back tomorrow to celebrate release day with a good ol' blog hop. I really hope you can join me! :)

Getting loved up (Part 1)...

BE MINE Envie
Hey!

Happy Monday! Although "it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas" as we all know, we cardmakers are already starting to look to the next occasion in the calendar. The Uniko Studio release does just that. That's right, it's time to love it up and think of Valentine's day!

I'll be posting sneaky peeks of the release over the next three days so I hope you can stick around. :)

Today we're giving you a peek of a new addition to the All Occasion Sentiments series. All Occasion Sentiments #5 features sentiments of a love theme in a variety of fonts. For today's mini envie I inked up the sentiment, 'BE MINE'.

BE MINE Envie
There's lots going on with this mini envie. I was in a creative flow and didn't know when to stop! Maybe I should have stopped sooner... Ha!

Well there's no going back now, so lemme give you a brief tour of it:
  • The gold-splatter background was created by mixing gold Perfect Pearls and water, then simply loading up a paintbrush with it and splattering/dripping/flicking it everywhere. I mean everwhere!
  • The vellum strip was covered in a stamp from Background Builders: Circles in Versamark ink and dusted in gold Perfect Pearls (sans water).
  • The peg, twine and sentiment are pretty self explanatory I think. :)

tips and tricks
  • Creating a love-themed project for a guy doesn't have to mean using girly pinks. Any colour can work!
  • Like the design for a card rather than a mini envie? Simply mount the envie on to a card base and as a bonus, place a gift card inside of it. A present and card in one creation!
  • The card that fits in this mini envie is tiny. I wouldn't recommend posting it, but it makes for a sweet way to send a note. I think I'll be sneaking this into my guy's packed lunch.
Want to know what's hiding in this mini envie? You'll have to stop by here for part 2 tomorrow to find out as we give you another sneak peek of a new Uniko Studio stamp set. (Shhh! Don't tell anyone, but the heart on today's project is giving you an extra early peek of tomorrow's featured set! *wink*)

As for today, check out a few more sneak peeks of this set courtesy of the Uniko Studio DT. You may be left feeling a little loved up yourself!
