Time to Party!

Hey!

Happy Monday! Happy for me because I've got this week off work too - woo hoo!!! Not that I hate work, I just like to have some quality inky time on my hands :D

Speaking of inky time (clever link, huh?!) I've been super busy this weekend not only enjoying the glorious sunshine but also taking part in the current Embellish Challenge. I'm a newbie to the Embellish challenges, but I've been admiring them from afar. I'm soooo glad I got the chance to play this time though.
The challenge is to incorporate party themed projects within this colour scheme. I was completely taken with left pic and in particular that red branch. I loved the way it balanced the picture and so this is what dictated my theme! Now if you took a peek at our dinning area here you'd know that this challenge was sooooooo my kinda style! We don't host parties as such, but that colour scheme is practically our whole dining area LOL!

So wanna party?! Well I'm no master-chef, but at my dinner party I could promise you a few paper-crafted accessories to help you feel welcome!

Firstly, you'd get an invite:

The Grungeboard 'P' is coated in Prisma Glitter - it sparkles so much IRL but my photography can't capture it! Now don't be fooled by the main panel either - that piece of 'black card' with red vines on is not dp but made using a emboss resist technique. I stamped a few vines together on PTI's Pure Poppy Cardstock, embossed with clear ep and then sponged black ink over the top. I was pretty impressed at the outcome...so much that I went ahead and made a few more things for 'my dinner party.'

So secondly and thirdly, as a guest, you'd get a personalised place card and little treat holder!

OK so the treat holder contains red buttons; I didn't have any black and red sweets on me LOL! But I'm guessing you'd probably be more happy with some PTI Pure Poppy Vintage Buttons than you would some sweet treats right?!

So here it is altogether! Obviously you wouldn't get a 'Chris' place card (unless that's your name!) but I like the fact that I can actually use this for a romantic meal (minus the buttons though - don't think he'd appreciate 'em!)

Supplies
Stamps: Inkadinkado - Delicate Branches
Ink: Versamark/Memento Black
Cardstock: PTI Kraft/Pure Poppy
Accesoreis: Clear EP/Cuttlebug/Nestabilities/PTI Pure Poppy Grosgrain Ribbon/PTI White Snow Twill/Grungeboard/Prisma Glitter/White Transfers/White Gel Pen
/Treat Tube/Pure Poppy Buttons LOL!

So have I got you as a guest then?! It may look oh-so-sophisticated but on the menu will be take-away pizza LOL!

Catch ya later!

Birthday Princess!

Hey!

I dunno if it's because the "holidays are coming" (sung in the coca-cola style song!) but I'm just up to my eyeballs with stuff to do! So I'll apologise in advance if I seem M.I.A around Blogland in the future!

As promised, I'm sharing the card I made for my niece, Cora's 6th birthday last Sunday! She had a wonderful birthday with lots of cake and presents! I find it kinda funny that she still takes a good couple of hours to get used to Chris, unsure if she likes him or not, but then by the time we're leaving she's being a cheeky monkey and sneaking up behind him and tapping him then hiding from him! Chris has always been around for family occasions since she was born, but I guess she just isn't keen on the idea of sharing her Aunty Amy! LOL!

Anyways onto the card:

Apologies for the poor pic! Would you believe I took my usual 10 odd photos for this card but now I've come to upload it, my camera only recognises one pic with the most awful lighting! Well I've tried my best to make this look as good as I can, if you focus on all the sparkles it might detract you from the poor pic as a whole LOL!

I know, another easel card! I just love 'em! I haven't any more hidden around so I'll probably be back to my usual card style now in case you're wondering!

The princess is an image stamped for me by my wonderful friend, Kate! I'd been saving this one especially for my niece as it totally reminded me of her - the little princess that she is! I also blinged up some Grungeboard for the number 6 - it sparkles so much more IRL! I just ran it through my Xyron and covered it in glitter which reminded me once again why I hate working with fine glitter - I swear I've still found it in places you wouldn't believe a week later! ;D

You can't see on the pic, but the ribbon slider tab thingy says "Today". I took a good close up pic of it but it's lost with the rest of my pics in a void somewhere!

Card Recipe
Stamps: Image swap from the lovely Kate
Card: PTI Sweet Blush/Aqua Mist/Craftwork Cards Winter Wonderland DP
Accessories: Nesties/Cuttlebug/Grungboard/Xyron/Fine Glitter/Cuttlebug Ribbon Slider Die/Ribbon from Stash/Promarkers/Gems/Stickles/Doodlebug Lily White Transfer Alphabet

I'm hitting the town tonight for a friend's birthday drinks, so I dunno what state I'll be in tomorrow to find the time to craft, cook, clean and iron! (notice my priority ordering there!) One thing's for sure though, looks like I'm gonna need my umbrella tonight!

Hope y'all have a fab Saturday night, whatever you're doing!

Catch ya later!

I'm back!

Hey!

I'm back! Sorry it's been a while but it took me a little while to get over my jet lag and on top of that I had to visit loadsa family and collect some surprise Easter treats as well as delivering some Canadian treats too! I hope you all had a lovely Easter break too! I've not started any of my choccie treats yet, surely that proves just how hectic things have been - not even time to scoff chocolate!

Canada was AMAZING! I just love to visit that country! I do have pics but to transfer them from the camera to the PC involves my boyfriend as we used his camera (his is much better than mine!) and so I'm hoping he'll get a move on and do it tomorrow so I can share a couple with you.

You won't be surprised to find that I did manage to visit a couple of craft shops out in Toronto and spend a little. All in aid to help the economy you understand LOL! Although I could have visited a few more stores, I don't think my dollars would have stretched any more than they already had!

So in between unpacking, sleeping and visiting I did manage to visit my little piece of Heaven known as my crafting corner! It's my nephew's birthday tomorrow so I had to whip up a card quick, the perfect excuse to crack open some of my new purchases to play with!
As you can tell, I'm becoming quite a fan of grungeboard. It's so fab and funky to play with! I coloured the shapes with acrylic paint, adding a bit of detail with my beloved white gel pen. The 'today' sentiment (if you can call it a sentiment!) was done with my old Dymo label machine that I found whilst rooting through my shelves for something completely different! To add a bit more depth I sponged the edges of the blue and green card with ink, the camera doesn't pick this up too well but it's more noticeable IRL - honest!
I decided to try to decorate the inside of the card too - something I'm beginning to do more and more! I used the die-cut sheet of grungeboard as a stencil for the skull and arrow shape and coloured using a promarker; I wished I had a lighter grey as I was hoping for a more subtle effect but hey, it doesn't look that bad!

Card Recipe
Stamp: Personal Impressions: Happy Birthday (Inside the card!)
Card: Doodlebug Bazzill: Swimming Pool, Limeade; Cosmo Cricket: Twist & Shout
Ink: Adirondack Stonewashed, SU! Old Olive
Accessories: Grungeboard, Acrylic Paint, Dymo Machine, White Gel Pen, Promarkers, Brads

Thanks for stopping by and hopefully I'll have a couple of pics from my holiday to show you next time! Don't panic, I won't post a slide-show that will last for hours!

Right then, off for a little blog hop to see what you've all been up to while I've been away!
Catch ya later!

Sparkle Sparkle Sparkle!

Hey!
This week is proving to be much calmer than last week! Therefore, I've managed to squeeze in just a wee bit of time for crafting.

One of my work colleague's has recently moved house and so this was the perfect opportunity to make a house warming card. I decided to use really bright and bold (maybe even clashing?!) colours along with some super sparkles! I'm not usually one to make such 'loud' cards but I think it's really fun - I'm ready for Spring/Summer now LOL! That funky key is made from Tim Holtz Grungeboard -it's an amazing material! Kinda like chipboard but much more flexible. You can do pretty much anything to this stuff and it'll still survive! I decided to 'bling' it up a little with some SU! Heat & Stick embossing powder along with some bright pink glitter. After doing this I realised why I usually stick to using Stickles - I was covered in the stuff! I even think I ingested some through my cuppa LOL! Here's a close up of the bling. WARNING: you might need your shades!
Thanks again to the lovely Kate for letting me have the grungeboard sample! I've now invested in the alphabet set - yay!
Card Recipe
Card: Steffi Collection (Craftwork Cards), Doodlebug Bazzill
Ink: Versamark
Accessories: Cuttlebug, Olivia Alphabet, White Gel Pen, Nestabilities, SU! Heat & Stick EP, Grungeboard, Brads
On a completely different note: I have a couple of pics to share from Comic Relief. What a crazy day! I somehow managed to avoid being in any of the pics (I dressed as a cowgirl for the day!) but hopefully you can tell what a fab day we had. We managed to raise a huge amount of money for charity! Now if that's not killing two birds with one stone, I don't know what is!

Thanks for stopping by!
